In Wyoming, Pharmacist Halts Robbery

Law Shield is pleased to hear that police have no plans to charge pharmacist Jackson Quick, who stopped a robbery at the Medicap Pharmacy in Cheyenne, Wyo. last month.

According to the Wyoming Tribune Eagle newspaper, a man entered the store with what looked like a real gun, pointed it at an employee, handed the employee a bag, and ordered that it be filled with Oxycodone and Percocet.

Pharmacist Quick became aware of the robbery and retrieved a gun. Quick ducked behind a counter, but the criminal spotted him. Quick responded by standing up and firing at the criminal, striking him, and ending the robbery. The robber is expected to survive.

As we note in our seminars, even legitimate, legal uses of firearms in self-defense can expose the legal shooter to some encounter with the legal system, however brief or positive the resolution.
