Don’t Get “Gun Burned” This Summer | New Jersey

Today I’d like to talk to you about carrying firearms during the summertime at outings and events in New Jersey.

In New Jersey, very few people have a license to carry a handgun. As a matter of fact, in the state of 10 million people, I believe there’s slightly over 1,000 people who have a carry license. Because New Jersey laws limit law-abiding citizens, from getting a carry license.

Carrying is Limited

If you don’t have a carry license, you should not be carrying at any type of summertime outing or event unless it’s on your own property. There is an exemption under N.J.S. 2C:39-6e to possess a firearm. You can carry it loaded, in your own home, or on your own property, but off your property, the exemptions don’t exist.
